This year's wildlife festival will have six stations of activities focusing on animals and habitats of the Rappahannock River watershed targeted for kids in grades 1-6. There will be live animals, games, prizes and s’mores! The event is free but you must register online. All participants must be included during registration process.

When Capt. John Smith explored the Rappahannock River in 1608,  he was met at the fall line in Fredericksburg by a hail of arrows from native fishermen. Explore the legacy of Hunter’s Island with its owner, local architect and history enthusiast Mary Ellen Wheeler. Bring a bag lunch for a picnic. This event sells out fast, so get your tickets early. Minimum age is 8 years.

Disaster + Travel + Wilderness First Aid

For adults and focused youths ages 12+. Open tot he public. The instructor is Matthew Rosefsky, Geo Medic, Wilderness EMT, CERT, MRC. This two-day, hands-on class teaches how to save life and limb during the critical minutes or hours before ambulance/hospital arrival. Earn the SOLO WFA 2-year certification, approved by the ACA, BSA, GS-USA, BCUNA & more. No pre-requisites. Twenty hours of instruction.
