April 19 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
FreeEvent Navigation

Join staff from Friends of the Rappahannock, Piedmont and Environmental Council, Virginia Department of Forestry, and other volunteers as we plant trees and shrubs along a small headwater stream that leads to the Robinson River and Rapidan River in Madison County!
We will be focused on installing live plant material that will help protect water quality, stabilize banks, prevent erosion, and improve habitat for fish and wildlife.
We have all the materials needed including tools, gloves, waders/rubber boots, water, and snacks.
Several conservation staff will be on the site to provide instruction on planting methods, safety talk, and to answer questions about the project and the larger restoration efforts taking place across the region.
This project is located on an active cattle farm with multiple streams and over a mile of river frontage and has lots of gravel, cobble, boulders, manure, and mud. Appropriate clothing and footwear in encouraged.
All participants must complete and sign a WAIVER (Click Here). Any participate under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
Please contact Adam Lynch with any questions.
