Oyster Shell Recycling Program Volunteer Opportunity
April 21 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Want to be a part of restoring shell back to the Chesapeake Bay, on Earth Day? The Virginia Oyster Shell Recycling Program (VOSRP) is looking for volunteers to help on Saturday, April 21, at the VCU Rice Rivers Center.
During the day, you will be bagging cured oyster shell to prepare it prior being seeded with larval oysters and returned to the Chesapeake Bay as part of their restoration program. There will be two “shifts”, 9-12 and 1-4. Registration is required because space is limited.
If you would like to join the effort, please plan to wear appropriate work clothing and closed toed shoes. Tools and gloves are provided or bring your own, if you prefer.
Please RSVP to Cindy Andrews, VOSRP Richmond Region Coordinator, at [email protected].
Cindy will send you the final details and direct you to the registration page.
A light BBQ lunch will be provided.
