Spring "Beach Party" April 17th!

 

It's still cold outside, but you can start planning to celebrate the Spring! The Virginia Gentlemen and Friends of the Rappahannock are teaming up for a Spring beach party featurin  "The Embers".  This group opened for the Rolling Stones, did commercials for Budweiser, performed for the Olympics, President Clinton's inaugurational ball and created the soundtrack for Endless SummersListen here.

It's going to be a great night of frie nds, great music, a nd lots of dancing!
Half the proceeds will be donated to our river protection programs.  Guests can bring their own bottle and the Virginia Gentlemen will provide mixers and beer.

Fredericksburg Watershed Property Draft Management Plan

On Wednesday, Feb. 17 the City of Fredericksburg Watershed Property Management Committee held a public meeting to present draft recommendations for management of the 4,232 acres of City-owned riverfront property.  The draft plan is now available online.

FOR Opposes Water Line in New River Easement

6/1/2009  Friends of the Rappahannock today notified Stafford County that it intends to vigorously oppose their proposal for a water line alignment through the City of Fredericksburg's river easement lands. The 30-40 foot wide corridor would traverse 1-mile through some of the most sensitive and scenic portions of the easement.  

 

Fredericksburg Passes Model Pollution Control Ordinance

Organizations Launch Clean Water Campaign

FOR has joined over 50 organizations to launch the "Choose Clean Water" Campaign which seeks federal leadership to help local communities and counties clean-up and protect their local waterways throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
