From the Rapp...

Join Friends of the Rappahannock, Piedmont Environmental Council, and the John Marshall Soil and Water Conservation District for an afternoon celebrating the bounty of the Rappahannock River Watershed at beautiful Marriott Ranch in Hume, Virginia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

"From the Rappahannock, For the Rappahannock" will include Rappahannock River oysters, local wine and beer from the Rappahannock River Watershed, live music, fly tying, hay rides and more!

Lunch and festivities will begin at 1:00pm and conclude around 4:00pm.  Children 14 and under are welcome free of charge.

If you are interested in getting dirty and protecting the Rappahannock River, we have a great offer before the event.

We will start the day off bright and early leaving FOR headquarters at 8:30am.  Limited transportation to and from the event is available (Please reserve seat ahead of time with FOR programs manager Bryan Hofmann bryan.hofmann@riverfriends.org).  If you are willing to drive or meet us there that would be great!  This morning crew will participate in a riparian stream restoration planting which will include tree planting and live staking on the upper Rappahannock and Fiery Run, a small tributary to the Rappahannock.  This will "Rapp" up around 12:30pm.  Participants are then invited to join us for oysters, beer, wine, and other festivities free of charge as a thank you for helping us with the restoration project.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact FOR (bryan.hofmann@riverfriends.org) PEC (mmacquilliam@pecva.org) or JMSWCD (tom.turner@fauquiercounty.gov)
