Old Cossey Pond
Join the Falmouth Flats Fly Fishers and learn to cast a fly rod for a morning of fishing and learning about the Rappahannock from a fisherman’s perspective. This is a perfect workshop for beginning fishers and those who have always wanted to learn. All ages are welcome. Fishing gear will be provided. This is a brand new event based out of our office in the Northern Neck!
On this 8 mile paddle, we will travel from Simonson’s to Chinns Mill Pond, meandering with the currents from saltwater river to freshwater pond. Park Service Historian Greg Mertz will lead this canoe trip through the history of the Civil War from the river's perspective. Travel from Germanna to Ely's Ford by canoe and paddle an 8-mile stretch of the Rappahannock that is rich with history!
