Shari grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, and graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Natural Resources Management. She was actively involved in environmental programs on campus, interned in the campus Office of Sustainability, and led community service trips focused on environmental issues. She also has led educational programs at the Audubon Naturalist Society in Maryland, as well as at Glacier National Park and Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge.
She is enthusiastic about developing new educational programs for Friends of the Rappahannock and expanding the educational resources available to the public. Outside of her Americorps position, she enjoys exploring Virginia by foot, bike, and canoe. She is thrilled to be part of Friends of the Rappahannock for this year.
