Hannah von Oeyen is 22 years old. Her home town is Staunton, Virginia, but she spent 8 years of her childhood growing up in Seoul, South Korea.

She graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2011 with a BA in Geography and Music.  She focused her Geography studies on the U.S. Conservation Movement and her Music studies on vocal performance.

She plans to return to Graduate School for a Masters in Education after exploring the non-profit world for a few years.  Hannah wishes to end up teaching high school Geography and directing school musicals.

Working at Friends of the Rappahannock was her primary goal after graduating and she is more than excited and ready to take on the Stewardship Coordinator position.  She will be expanding on successful programs like the “Save the Crabs, then Eat ‘Em” campaign, Get the Dirt Out, and Student Stream Team. She will also be helping to start new ones like the Mobile Rainscapes program.

Hannah just recently got engaged at Disney World in January and is the happiest person on earth.

Get involved in her stewardship activities and pledge to skip the fertilizer this spring! www.riverfriends.org/savethecrabs.
